VS-Cambium-Developer: a new predictive model of cambium functioning

VS-CD model is developed based on the cambial block of VS-model. It is a new predictive algorithm of cambial functioning without additional year-to-year parameter adjustment. This model is based on the hypothesis that external climatic factors regulate the concentration of the differentiation inhibitor in each cambial cell, gradually decreasing with the distance from the initial cell. A differentiation inhibitor is defined as a hypothetical substance that promotes cambium formation. Practically, this can be expressed as the balance of auxins and cytokinins or the balance of substrates (sugars) and enzymes, etc.

The application implements functions of the new predictive algorithm of the new Vaganov-Shashkin model cambial block. The application is implemented using the R programming language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. It is a set of functions to simulate a radial row development in every season for a period. There are also available a workflow example.

There a following functions for a period of years (output is possible in a data frame format by default):

  1. Estimating cell production in every growing season
  2. Estimating growth season length for every season
  3. Estimating inhibitor supply for every season Please, read readme.txt before running an app.
